Study in Australia

If you are interested in studying in Australia, the Australian Government has developed an overseas student program. This permits people who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents to obtain a student visa. They can then commence a course of study in Australia.

Amongst other requirements, you must enrol in a registered course and have enough financial backing to support yourself and your immediate family during your proposed period of study in Australia.

Your application will be assessed on the type of study you are seeking and the current passport you hold. Different assessment levels exist and these determine the degree of evidence required to satisfy the criteria.

The official government website for “study in Australia” provides assistance in determining whether or not this program is for you and the necessary steps to take to ensure your successful arrival in Australia as a student.

As this is a very complex area of migration law and the criteria hard to decipher in a clear and understandable format, we are happy to provide you with answers to all of your questions once you have had time to wade through the enormous amount of information available over the internet.

General requirements

All visa subclasses require the applicant and their family members to meet what is known as basic requirements.

These usually relate to age, health, character and English language ability.

If you do not satisfy the basic requirements that relate to the subclass of visa you are applying for then you have no prospects of securing a visa to permit you to enter Australia.

Your previous immigration history is taken into account when deciding to approve or deny an application. So when entering and remaining in Australia you must ensure that you abide by the conditions and guidelines that relate to your current visa or you put at risk any future prospects you may have to migrate.

Preliminary assessment

Free online assessments are not a part of the services that Australian Immigration Advisors provide.

Frankly, we feel that in order to provide you with a meaningful advice in relation to your visa prospects in this category we need to communicate with you personally.

We need to determine your exact circumstances, something which requires specific questions about you and your current situation, not general enquiries that only allow a fairly non-committal response as to likely success of any application by you.

If you want an honest response and one that doesn’t lead you to false hopes that cannot be substantiated, please contact us and submit your enquiry.

If it can be answered quickly and simply there may not even be any charge associated with our advice.

If, however, further investigation is required we recommend that you invest the small sum requested to ensure that you are getting an advice that is specific to you and your current circumstances.

Please complete your current personal details below and someone from Australian Immigration Advisors will contact you to advise you of the next step.
